Darum lieben wir Stoffwindeln
Im Durchschnitt wird ein Kind zwischen seinem dritten und vierten Lebensjahr trocken. Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt trägt es jeden Tag sowohl tagsüber als auch in der Nacht Windeln. Sie sind also fast durchgängig an der zarten Haut unserer Liebsten. Oft machen wir uns wenig Gedanken darüber, was da den Popo unseres Babys berührt. Genauer betrachtet stellen wir fest, dass das Wickeln mit Stoff viele Vorteile mit sich bringt.
Stoffwindeln sind langlebig. Gut gepflegt überdauern sie mühelos mehrere Wickelkinder. Einmal angeschafft, können sie also nicht nur einmal von einem Baby getragen werden, sondern auch an Geschwisterkinder weitergegeben oder nach Ende der Wickelzeit weiterverkauft werden. Wusstest du, dass eine Stoffwindel einen Wiederverkaufswert von bis zu 50% des Neupreises hat?
Vor allem Einlagen und Zubehör können auch nach der Wickelzeit zweckentfremdet lange weiterverwendet werden; So werden alte Mullwindeln zum praktischen Geschirrtuch oder die Nasstasche dient zum Transport nasser Schwimmsachen oder verschwitzter Sportkleidung.
Stoffwindeln sind nachhaltig. Während der gesamten Wickelzeit benötigt ein Kind ungefähr 6.000 Windeln, das bedeutet bei Wegwerfwindeln 1.000kg Müll. Das ist ganz schön viel Ballast. Warum also nicht vermeiden? Bei dem Wickeln mit Stoff entsteht kaum Müll. Die verwendeten Materialien sind nahezu alle waschbar und wiederverwendbar. Das ist nicht nur ganz schön toll für Eltern und Kind, sondern vor allem für unsere Umwelt. Gerade in der heutigen Zeit sollten wir umweltbewusster denn je handeln. Vor allem da wir gerade jetzt jemanden wickeln, der in Zukunft davon profitieren wird.
Stoffwindeln sind gut zur Haut. Beim Wickeln mit Stoff wissen wir, was die Haut unseres Babys berührt. Wir haben uns für ein Material oder einen Stoff entschieden. Stoffwindeln haben keine fragwürdigen Inhaltsstoffe, sondern bestehen je nach Windelart sogar komplett aus Naturfasern, z.B. Wollwindeln. Sie enthalten keine Superabsorber, Duftstoffe oder andere künstliche Zusätze. Sie sind einfach das, was sie sind, ganz ohne Schnickschnack.
Stoffwindeln sind atmungsaktiv. Wusstest du, dass die Temperatur in einer Stoffwindel ca. 2 Grad geringer ist als in einer Wegwerfwindel? Das kann physiologisch einen großen Unterschied machen. Vor allem bei Jungs. Aber auch Bakterien und Pilze gedeihen auf einem warmen, feuchten Nährboden viel schneller.
Auf den ersten Blick, liegt es nahe, zu glauben, dass eine Stoffwindel, durch ihr teils voluminöses Erscheinungsbild wärmer halten muss als die vergleichsweise dünne Wegwerfalternative. Doch genau das Gegenteil ist Fakt. Nässeschutzschichten aus PUL oder Wolle lassen Luft und Wärme gut zirkulieren. Natürliche Saugmaterialien begünstigen das Windelklima zudem. Besonders Babys mit empfindlicher Haut profitieren von diesen Argumenten. Weniger Ausschlag. Weniger wunde Popos. In einem Versuch hat unser Mitarbeiter eine Wegwerfwindel um die eine Hand gebunden, um die andere eine Stoffwindel. Der deutliche Unterschied nach 10 Minuten hat ihn beeindruckt. Versuch es doch auch mal.
Stoffwindeln geben ein gutes Nässefeedback. Das Kind merkt, wenn es einnässt und bekommt so ein besseres Verständnis, wann es muss und was passiert. Eine Folge davon kann ein schnelleres Trockenwerden sein. Es lernt seinem Körper zu vertrauen und damit umzugehen. Denn unsere Kinder sind kompetent. Durch Wegwerfwindeln wird ihnen diese Kompetenz abverlangt, da moderne Superabsorber ein ständig trockenes Gefühl am Po illusionieren. Ein Kind merkt als das es muss, spürt die Nässe aber nicht als Konsequenz, dies erschwert die Phase des Trockenwerdens.
Stoffwindeln bedeuten Unabhängigkeit. Nie wieder ohne Windeln! Die frühe Vergangenheit hat uns gezeigt, wie schnell es passieren kann, dass Lieferketten unterbrochen werden oder einige Hygieneartikel ausverkauft sind. Auch ein einfaches “Beim Einkauf vergessen” genügt doch auch meistens schon. Mit Stoffwindeln sind Eltern immer gut versorgt und es ist meist etwas vorhanden, dass “nur “ gewaschen werden muss.
Stoffwindeln sind für jeden was. Durch die Vielzahl verschiedener Systeme, Muster und Preiskategorien findet sicherlich nahezu jede Familie die passende Windel für sich. Ob ein einteiliges System mit Klettverschluss, das genauso bequem und einfach zu handhaben ist wie die klassische Wegwerfwindel oder etwas aufwändiger aus Wolle und reinen Naturfasern.
