The Smart Bottoms 3.1 is an excellent All-In-One (AIO) combining clever design with simplicity. Smart Bottoms makes the introduction to cloth diapering easy and fun, using only the finest materials. This diaper is ideal for busy parents or for the kindergarten.

The outer layer is waterproof PUL and the absorbent inner is made from 100% organic cotton. Its absorbent insert is shaped like a long tongue, that is simply folded over and then laid on top. Unlike other AIOs, there is no pocket to stuff the insert into, so the dry diaper can be taken off the line and put straight on the baby's bum, without any hassle at all. An absolute fool proof diaper!

The four rows of snaps on the front enable a better fit as your baby grows from 5 to 16kg. For newborns we recommend the Smart Bottoms Born 2.0 Smart AIO, designed especially for small babies between 2.7 - 5.5 kgs.

Smart Bottoms are known for having a slim fit and being very absorbent. However, in an effort to be as natural as possible, the manufacturers have avoided the use of chemicals in ridding the cotton fibres of their natural oils. As the organic cotton in this diaper is very pure and contains a lot of natural oils, it will take more washes to prepare this diaper for use, than with conventional cotton. That means it could take as many as 6-8 washes before your diaper is very absorbent. We recommend testing your diaper before use by pouring a small amount of warm water on the dry diaper. It should absorb instantly when it is ready to use.

If you need to boost the absorbency of the diaper, we recommend the Avo&Cado bamboo or Thirsties hemp inserts. Just lay them on top or underneath the tongue insert.

Wash up to 60 degrees. Can be tumbled dried on low. The manufacturer recommends washing six times before first use.

* High heat can damage the PUL (polyurethane) ! Avoid drying the nappy on the heater or exposing them over longer periods to the blazing sun.
