The Petit Lulu SIO Complete is a versatile two-part cloth nappy system, consisting of a waterproof PUL cover and snap-in inserts. SIO or "Snap-In-One" is a type of complete nappy, where the inserts are attached to the waterproof layer with snaps, rather than sewn together. This offers the advantages of both a one-part and two-part system. When the inserts are snapped-in, the inserts remain attached and won't slide around or fall out. However, you have the practicaltiy of a two-part nappy by being able to take out the wet inserts, snap-in fresh ones and then reuse the cover.
The SIO Complete comes with the following three pieces:
- 1x Petit Lulu size 2 cover. It has velcro on the outside to adjust the size of the nappy, and two snaps on the inside for attaching the inserts.
- 1x Petit Lulu snap-in contoured BASIC insert. This anatomically formed insert is shaped to fit the cover and is made from 60% viscose (from bamboo) and 40% organic cotton. The lower layer has an extra gusset made from fleece, to help prevent leakage around the legs. This is a unique feature of the Petit Lulu BASIC inserts. The BASIC insert has slightly more absorbency than an AIO nappy.
- 1x Petit Lulu snap-in short insert (28 x 11cm). This is an extra booster to increase the absorbency of the nappy. The insert is also made from a bamboo viscose and organic cotton mix on the outside with a core from cotton/polyester.
All Petit Lulu covers have fleece edging, which avoids red marks on the legs and is soft and comfortable to wear. To ensure a good fit and to avoid leaks, the cover must close tightly around the legs.
The bamboo/organic cotton inserts are very absorbent and it's easy to adjust the absorbency as needed, by adding or removing boosters. Extra PLUS inserts (contoured insert + long booster) and START inserts (contoured insert + short booster) are available to be purchased seperately.
This system can also be combined with the Petit Lulu fitted or night nappies for a reliable and very absorbent night solution.
For full-time diapering with Petit Lulu SIOs, we recommend the following:
Cover: 100% polyester (with polyurethane laminate)
BASIC insert: 60% viscose (from bamboo), 40% cotton (organic)
START Insert: Top and underside: 60% viscose (from bamboo), 40% cotton (organic). Fill: 80% cotton, 20% polyester
Can be washed up to 60 degrees. Air dry PUL cover. The inserts can be tumble dried.
* High heat can damage the PUL (polyurethane) ! Avoid drying the PUL cover on the heater or exposing them over longer periods to the blazing sun.
